David’s long life was spent serving his country and his fellow man. During his military career from 1954-1976 he served in many capacities including time as a member of the Old Guard. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
After his military career, David entered the priesthood of the Episcopal Church. Following his ordination in 1983 he served the Dioceses of Western North Carolina, Southwestern Virginia, Indianapolis and East Carolina.
David touched many lives throughout his journey on earth and enriched all of us who were blessed to know him. His legacy shall be seen in the love and actions of those he inspired.
He is survived by his wife Henrietta, sister Ella and children Berry and Martha as well as by a large extended family including many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Church of the Good Shepard in Fayetteville, NC.
