Mr. Hewett was born December 25, 1933 in Brunswick County, son of the late Ed and Lonah Hewett. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Clemmons Hewett; four children, Geral Ann Turner, Terri H. Faulk and husband Wayne, James Hewett, and Gregg Hewett; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. The family will have visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Supply.
