Born January 5, 1951 in Gastonia, NC, she was a daughter of Harry and Hazel Groves. She was a graduate of Ashley High School in Gastonia. She was a loving wife and mother. Everyone who met her felt her kindness and warmth. Emmy never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She loved the beach, especially spending time there with friends and family.
She is survived by her sister, Sandy Bryson and her husband, Billy; a brother, Brandt Groves and his wife, Charlene; and her best friend, Myra Short; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rupert Morgan; and her son, Michael Lee Morgan; a niece, Tennie Groves; and nephew, Charles Groves.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday July 19, 2025 at Cape Fear Memorial Park.
