He was born on August 9, 1970 in Winchester, VA to the late Lanny Scott Hensler and Teri Roush Bingaman.
He is survived by his daughter Cassie Hensler (Patrick Otey) two granddaughters Natalie Otey and Ava Otey, two sisters Jesika Mathai and Casey Hensler, two stepbrothers Bruce Bingaman and Jamie Bingaman, his significant other Cindy Vance, aunt Julia Small, and loving aunt Coni L Roush, his mother Teri Roush Bingaman, and his stepfather Bruce V Bingaman, who lovingly taught him the residential painting trade 35 years ago when he was 18.
A paintbrush was made for Jamie's hand, as he loved the paint trade. He established himself as a premier painter on Oak Island, NC. He was known as an efficient, punctual, knowledgeable, and much sought after paint contractor, who knew the island and everyone on it.
He loved his island life. He enjoyed rides on the island, walking the beach, and the local cuisine.
He loved football. Especially his New York Giants. He was an animal lover. From the ducks that came to his steps to be fed each day, to the strays he took in. He was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lanny S Hensler, grandparents Charles (Connie) and Nelda Roush, Delphia and "Bud" Hensler, step sister, Terri Sales, step brother Mike Bingaman, his favorite uncle C.C. Roush, his favorite great uncle John W. Small, and his aunt Frances Comer.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to thank Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center and Doctor Lee for the compassionate care they provided.
