

Born on June 13, 1948, daughter of the late Kenneth Lee Harbour and Florence Bell Rule Harbour. Joanne was raised in Glenville, West Virginia, where she began her journey of loyalty and humor that touched the lives of many.
Joanne was a resident of Southport, North Carolina, where she was known for her honesty and her vibrant spirit. Her love for music was evident as she sang with joy and passion in the West Virginia Symphony Choir and the St. Timothy Church Choir. In 2018, she joined St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southport.
Joanne will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and friends, her humorous nature that brought smiles to many, and her steadfast loyalty. Her life was a testament to the values she held dear, and she leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness and joy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Vaughan; and a nephew, Brent Vaughan.
She is survived by her two children, Paul (Sarah) Boggs and Kate (Svend) Mathiesen; a grandson, her pride and joy, Svend Mathiesen; a sister, Jerry Vaughan; a brother, John (Cheryl) Harbour; two nieces, Laura Bush and Bethany Harbour; and a nephew, Chris Harbour.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Southport Health and Rehab at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025 with Reverend Jason Huebner officiating.
