

Chief was born December 1, 1973. He was a veteran of the US Army having served from 1997 to 2001 as an active duty Army Firefighter, serving for a year and four months in Kosovo. Following his time in the Army, he served in various Government Fire Departments. While working in Atlanta with the US Army, he became the Fire Chief at Fort McPherson / Fort Gillem at the age of 36, making him one of the youngest Fire Chief in the Department of Defense, and one of the few former active duty Army firefighters to become a Fire Chief. He met his future wife Alicia whom he married in 2007. In 2011, he moved to Southport and joined the Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point Fire Department as the Fire Chief. He was very involved in the community, especially with Boy Scout Troop 102, where he was a founding member and Assistant Scoutmaster. Chief was a huge Tennessee Football fan who loved spending time with his family and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Alicia Scott; a son, Jackson Scott; his father, Louis Jackson Scott and his wife Melissa; his mother, Shirley Scott; a brother, Jerry Scott; two sisters, Tammy Ward and husband Dennis, and McKenzie Scott; and many other extended family members.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Southport Fire Department with Firefighter and US Army honors.
