December 26, 1942 – April 1, 2026
Paul N. Stream passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, and raised in Orange County, California, Paul built the foundation of a life guided by hard work, faith, loyalty, and an unwavering love of family.
Paul was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 35 years, Rosalie Stream, and a loving father to his children: Jacqueline Gantzer (John), Paul Stream (April), Jennifer Stream, Michael Sprung (Nevada), and Matthew Sprung (Shelley). He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Shane, Kyle, Nicholas, Genevieve, Jacob, Evan, Brandon, Liam, and Jett, and a loving great grandfather to four great grandchildren.
Paul attended Mater Dei High School, where his leadership as captain of their nationally ranked football program left a lasting legacy. He later attended UCLA and remained a lifelong sports enthusiast. An avid runner, Paul’s determination led him to the remarkable achievement of completing several marathons in under three hours.
Paul’s professional life reflected both his entrepreneurial spirit and forward thinking mind. He began his career with the Safeway Corporation before owning and operating an IGA grocery store. His journey later took him to New York, where he worked for Symbol Technologies. He played a pioneering role in the advancement of barcode scanning technology, an innovation that transformed the retail industry. Paul later founded his own computer consulting company, Streamline Systems. Paul retired to North Carolina with his beloved wife, Rosalie, where he embraced a new chapter working in residential real estate appraisal and enjoying many hours on the golf course.
A man who never met a stranger, Paul was known for his kindness and generosity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs, whose companionship brought him great joy. Paul was also a devoted sports fan, faithfully cheering for the New York Yankees and the New York Jets.
Above all else, Paul’s life was centered on his family. Everything he did came from a place of deep love. He made certain those around him felt cared for and supported every single day, standing firmly by their side with patience, warmth, and quiet strength. His steady presence, compassion, and unwavering devotion will be carried in the hearts of his family forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Southport, North Carolina, with a reception to follow.
