It’s so lonely without you in my life every day. I feel your presence and see and hear signs you are here watching over me which is very comforting. 
A mother/child bond is so strong it hurts my heart I can’t share and say so many things to you anymore. I hope you know in heaven that I am so lost without you every day in my life. I took care of you in the last years of your life but you took care of me for all of mine. I have never had such a pure, caring loving person in my life and it took losing you to appreciate the happy fun positive moments you were my whole life. I wish I was with you. I wish I could have made you feel better and hug you so you weren’t alone. I hope in heaven with daddy now finally you know how much I truly love and miss you. It hurts. I feel your presence with me every day which is the best feeling. You have brightened everyone’s lives with your humor and laughter it’s the silence now on earth… the emptiness of not physically seeing you that makes me realize I had so much I should have said and shared then.
You are the best mom ever. You were perfect. I’m so lucky to have been blessed with such an amazing woman in my life. It’s just now I really miss you and I just want one more day to shower you with love and talk to you. Just hear your laugh or a funny joke one more time. You live on forever through me. I feel your presence with me every day watching over and guiding me. I miss you so much mommy. I’m glad you and dad are reunited in heaven. Gives me peace. I love you.
I know dad had some enchanted evening when he finally saw you again across a crowded room. Your souls are together forever. We love you.

Today is bittersweet to me.
It’s my anniversary day since I was 19… but now it’s also the one year anniversary I lost my best friend and favorite woman on the planet.
I hurt. All the time. An indescribable feeling of grief and emptiness. Sadness. Something is missing from my life… YOU!
It was devestating when I lost daddy in 2021. But I still had my funny mommy. The happiest person on earth. You never said a bad word about anyone. Always had a smile on your face no matter what and you made everyone around you laugh. I know you had a rough childhood so you’re an extra special person to have grown above that and never let it deter you from your happiness. I wish I could be more like you. I’m more like daddy. Grumpy and complaining! 
Your smile is contagious. You and I were laughing hours before you were taken so abruptly from me. I know you had a long life but I never thought you’d be gone the next morning. I wish there was something I could have done. Woken up to check on you after 1 am that night and when I asked you what you wanted for breakfast 8 short hours later. I was only steps away and I wasn’t there when you needed me most. You were frightened and it haunts me I wasn’t there hugging you telling you everything’s going to be ok. You were all alone and you deserved better. It kills me every time I think of not being there for you. When you were always there for me. When the story you told me I came out looked at your face and started screaming and crying. My first breath and the nurse didn’t have to spank me to make me cry. And I never shut up since!
I’m so lucky. Blessed I got you & daddy as parents. You gave Renee and I the best childhood ever. Best time of my life. Loved pampered &  taken care of by the best parents ever.
It’s been one year. When I think of you I smile. I know you’re with daddy together Forever. Young. Laughing. Dancing. Singing. With all your families and friends in heaven.

This hurts. I think of you every day. Little things remind me of you. I go to your house and feel peace and quiet and loads of memories and talk to you and dad. I can’t believe you’re not here anymore. Age means nothing when your parents die. No matter how old you are you are reverted back to a small child. There’s something lost not there anymore. The unconditional love you took for granted, the wisdom, the hugs, for so long are just GONE. That’s what hurts the most. I am 10 years old again. An orphan. Without you and daddy. I miss you both so much. I hope you’re happy together in heaven. But the void without you every day hurts. It’s nothingness now. I love you.

I didn’t know Joyce for long but it felt like forever. She had one of the most beautiful smile and she was full of love. Her daughters were everything to her especially Diane who she jokingly says she wants to attached to her side. Joyce always let you feel very welcome and was sharp when it comes to her game shows. Will forever miss your beautiful smile. RIP and my condolences to the family. Stay strong

This is me, my mom, and Carol. One of my best friends since 12 years old and another one of my moms many daughters always part of our family. Mom always was up for a funny photo, a video or any even she could get out of the house and be social. She did not like being alone or inside. She was up for anything till the end. She wanted to go for drives. Go to the beach or CB Smith Park where Renee brought her often. She loved company coming over or going anywhere to be around other people. She loved her weekly daycare and going anywhere was a fun time for her. She loved people and being active. It was hard for her in the end being stuck in a hospital bed  and I think that’s the only time my whole life I saw her unhappy. She was used to moving not staying still. But we did hang out and laugh and she loved hotdogs. Ice cream cones and watching tv. I put orchids in front of her bed so she could see them blooming. She loved her orchids. And a picture of my dad and her in their square dance outfits. That’s all she needed to be happy. I love this picture of us three. We called this her Where’s Waldo shirt. Which she loved wearing!

It’s been one month. You’re gone. You’re with dad. I gotta be honest I can’t stop crying because I miss you so much and this is not getting easier. I wish I showed you and told you more how much I loved you while you were here right infront of my face. I’m holding your hand in heaven mom. And never letting go. I love you so much. It hurts. The emptiness in my home and my heart hurts.

This is one year ago. Before she got Covid. She just turned 92! She is vibrant and adorable! She didn’t want to say her age but she should have shouted it out loud and been proud she looked and felt this good still living in her own house where she wanted to be. I will always admire this amazing woman who gave birth to me. Best mom ever. There’s a reason her first name Joyce began with Joy! She lived her life spreading joy to others. What a way to be remembered. 🥰

This was 7 years ago with her first great granddaughter and her favorite granddaughter…. Christyne and Harper. My mom had a joy and zest for life always. No matter what. Happy. Smiling. Laughing. Never an unkind word about anyone. She was oblivious to negative only surrounded herself with positive. She was amazing. Look at her! She’s 86 in this picture! She looks amazing. She told me often “Never get old. Stay young and happy!” Enjoy your life. And she did!

I have known Joyce Babbit  as a Volunteer at Memorial Pembroke.  I got re-united with her and her husband (late) and daughter Dianne over seven (7) years ago. I was there Assistant up until there passing.  To the family my sincere condolences.

I have such fond memories of Joyce. She was always so kind to me. I was 14 when I first met Joyce and George. They were always so happy and kind. I remember them going square dancing and the costumes they would wear. Joyce always had a smile on her face. I never heard her scream.
We had many sleepovers at the Babbitt home in Westchester and later in Pembroke Pines. I remember how happy they were at their 50th anniversary party. Joyce was a role model for us.
At this time I want to send my sincere condolences to the Babbitt and Ferris families.
May Joyce's memory be a blessing to you all. She will live on in your hearts and memories. My prayers are with you all. May Joyce Rest In Eternal Peace with her beloved George. ❤️

My condolences and sympathy go out to Joyce's family. She was the mother of my childhood friend Dianne. I remember she was funny and always in a good spirit. I used to see her cooking in the kitchen making scrambled eggs and adding bits of butter to the pan. It's funny what sticks out in your mind and the things you remember as a kid. I remember she also liked the colors of flamingo and teal and her house was always decorated very neat & pretty in those colors. When she moved to Pembroke Pines I do remember seeing her patio of her beloved orchids. When Dianne (and me) would do silly teenager antics I remember Joyce always saying "Oh, Dianne!" Joyce always had a smile. So I have nothing but good, sweet memories of Joyce and may she rest in peace. She was also extremely lucky to have Dianne taking care of her for many years ❤  I can only hope if and when that time comes for me, that my daughter would be there for me.

Renee got it for her at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville. She had it with her 24/7. Played with his eyes all the time. Called it her green teddy bear. But it’s an alligator. That was my mom! I asked her what his name was she said Renee got it for me so I think I’ll name him Renee! Closest thing to not having her here now. I hold it often.

Thank you to all who sent condolences, cards, flowers, emails, texts, and voicemails. She loved all of you so much and am overwhelmed so many loved her and sent beautiful messages about her. I will post on here. Xo

My mom had a best friend named Elsie and they stayed lifelong friends. In fact everyone my mom became friends with stayed close forever. People liked to be around her because she was fun and just an all around nice person. She loved company and being with people. Vivacious and full of life until the end. 

I could go on and on about my mom but you’re all falling asleep so I will close with this: My mother and her spirit and zest for life were apparent hours before she left this earth. She was independent and still laughed and found humor even after her Georgie died 2 years ago after 66 years of marriage. She kept going. I know in my heart my dad was waiting for his bride to come back to him after his departure 2 1/2 years ago. 

Like the first time he saw her at the dance. She was the one. She will always be the one but now they are angels in heaven. Together Forever. I love you mommy and daddy. I feel pain for my loss but pleasure knowing you are once again reunited. You are the best mom and dad ever. 
The best parents ever. And I am so blessed to have been your daughter. I could have not had a better childhood. 

I strived to be as good a mother to Christyne and Chuckie and grandmother to Harper. But fact is I could not hold a candle to you. You were never a burden. Times were tough in the end but your family loved and appreciated the opportunity to be there for you as you’ve been there for us since our first breath. We are honored to have been there for you when you took your last. I will miss making you your daily Ball Park franks or hearing John Boy Walton or Laura Engels on the TV constantly. But I wouldn’t change that for the world! Even though I complained enough it was comforting to have my mom here and honor my father’s wishes to take care of her. 

I haven’t had time to grieve. I miss you mommy. I love you. You’re the best mom ever.

I admire the woman, wife, mother, sister, daughter grand and great grandmother she was. She truly had a zest for life and always adorned a smile or infectious laugh.

She and my father had a true everlasting love. Both the youngest in their families they each moved to Miami Beach with their parents. Met at a young Jewish singles dance and my dad spotted her and said I’m going to marry that girl. Six months later they were wed.

My mother made every outing an adventure. Including going to the dentist! She’d surprise us with fun things she thought up like Kids Day every year since they had Mothers and Fathers Day.

I have endless memories of my mom. How she raised us to do the right thing and care for others. She cared for others as a volunteer after she retired for over 20 years at Memorial Hospital Pembroke. And at the end I cared for her. And as much as we clashed I wouldn’t have it any other way. Nothing could break or diminish the bond or love we had for each other. 

She treated my sister and I totally equal which I carried on to my kids. If one got 3 pretzels so did the other. In fact we were only allowed to have 2 cookies a day. My mom was allergic to chocolate so I was allergic to chocolate even though I never tasted it … until I was of legal age then I went to a chocolate bar.

My mom worked at the court house in the computer room when I started high school. She and my dad joined a square dancing club and danced w their friends for years even performing in shows. My mother sewed all their matching square dance outfits. She could do anything creative. Including ceramics and calligraphy.

She later got involved with growing orchids Joined the orchid society and still grows prize winning orchids to this day.

One of her first loves was music following in her mothers footsteps, who played the organ in silent movie theaters. Till the end she enjoyed entertaining others and could play almost any song by ear. While my dad of course sung.

Now what do I do that I don’t have you?

I stayed up with my mother till one am Saturday night watching her favorite movie for the hundredth time West Side Story. We were joking and I made a video of her in bed. Said goodnight. See you in the morning.

But Sunday morning I awoke but she never did.  I realized she was gone. My world shattered. My heart broke. I screamed I cried but knew my mother was no longer here. In an instant. Gone.

After the initial shock instead of realizing how unlucky I was I realized how lucky I was to have had the most amazing woman as my mother on this Earth for 93 years. How blessed is that?!

Where do I begin? From as long as I can remember my mom was the most attentive mother to Renee and I. She was a homemaker, she sewed us matching clothes along with our Barbies and Thumbellina. (I brought her)!

She was involved in all our school activities. As room mother she sewed seat covers for my entire class. She’d always chaperone field trips and became our girl scout leader. Troop 326 and 551. Everyone wanted my mom to be their mom. She was so hilarious and planned fun activities in our neighborhood. We had the best sleepovers. I always wanted Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins) to be my mom but later realized I already had her. But her name was Joyce Babbitt.

My parents raised us in a very loving nurturing environment. My entire childhood I never heard a cuss word or fight between my parents. They taught us what it was like to love and show love to each other. It was Happy Days, Wonder Years and The Goldbergs all rolled into one. Though others might disagree and compare my mom and dad to Edith and Archie Bunker!

My mom was always happy, smiling and funny. She could look at any situation and through her innocence notice only the good. She was giving, kind and nurturing to all. Her family was her life. She didn’t have the best childhood but did not let that dim the ray of sunshine she spread to others.
