Daggett in Manhattan, New York. Later, her family moved to Woodside, Queens, where she
graduated from grade school at St. Francis of Assisi in Astoria and then moved on to graduate
from Immaculate Conception High School in Manhattan. The family then moved to Old Bridge,
New Jersey, where she was wed to Richard Jaeger at St. Ambrose Church on January 24 th 1970.
Bettejane and Richard then lived in Marlboro, New Jersey, where she gave birth to her first
daughter, Janine and became pregnant with her second daughter, Dawn. Bettejane and her new
family moved to Lake Mohawk, Sparta, New Jersey, on December 22 nd 1972. She gave birth
there to Dawn and Mary-Elizabeth.
In 1992, her family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. While living there, Bettejane went on to
graduate from the Victory Bible Institute - it was her dream come true. Upon receiving her
Victory Bible Institute diploma, she served in many different areas of ministry both to
encourage those around her and spread the message of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Over the years, Bettejane’s family gradually moved out of Tulsa, and she eventually did the
same, moving back to Sparta, New Jersey, to reunite with many of them in 2005. Then, in
February, 2013, she moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina, so that she could be with her
daughter Janine’s family. After five years, she returned to Sparta, New Jersey, to reunite with
daughters, Dawn and Mary, grandchildren, and Family wishing to carry out her last days at home
in the state of New Jersey.
Bettejane was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Harold Daggett and Elizabeth Clark Daggett.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Jaeger; her three daughters, Janine Jaeger
Dowler (Paul), Dawn Jaeger Guerrini (Darren) and Mary Elizabeth Jaeger (Todd Milliken); two
grandsons, Ryan and Austin; six granddaughters Justine, Devyn, Leah, Summer, Audrey, and
Noelle; her older sister, Marilyn Kelly; and younger brother, Harold Daggett.
Bettejane was devoted to both God and her family. Of all activities, she loved these the most:
singing and dancing with her husband, daughters and grandchildren; laughing, and making others
laugh with her; telling stories about her family and childhood friends; writing little encouraging
notes for others; praising the Lord in church; and taking part in spontaneous joy-filled moments
with those she loved. Bettejane was the most gentle listener and advice giver. Not only did she
give great advice, but she also prayed for and believed in you. But above all, Bettejane was a
fighter. She never gave up. She spoke of freedom often and has now realized its fullness as she
has moved on to be with her savior, Jesus. Bettejane will be dearly missed, but her love, faith,
and spontaneity will continue to live on through both her family and the countless lives she has
touched. Bettejane a consecrated gift from God, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from
above, and comes down from the Father of lights…. James 1:17
