David K. Nichols

David K. Nichols, 91, of Sparta, passed away on March 9, 2010. David was born in Nutley, NJ and moved to Sparta in 1952. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWll. He worked as an Industrial Engineer at Georgia Pacific in Warwick, NY for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. David was a member of the Warwick Rotary Club, the Lake Hopatcong Ice Yacht Club and the 206 Hunting Club in Montague, NJ. He also served as Past President of the Eastern Ice Yachting Association. David is predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (nee Noskiewicz) Nichols and his beloved son David J. Nichols. He is survived by his devoted son Thomas K. Nichols and his wife Mary Lou of Blairstown, NJ; sister Bessie J. Peterson; grandchildren David Nichols and his wife Christine of Sparta and Mike Nichols of Springfield, PA. He is also survived by great grandchildren Christopher and Peyton. Friends may call on March 11th, Thursday from 2-4, 7-9pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A funeral service will be held at 10am Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery.
