Ned was born in Rochester, NY, graduated from East High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University and his Masters of Science from University of Rochester. Before college, he served in the US Army for 4 years following WWII and was honorably discharged on June 16, 1950. Ned worked for Eastman Kodak for 37 years, took early retirement in 1986 and was very proud that he was able to enjoy retirement for more years than he worked!
Ned met his wife, Mary Lou, after returning from the Army at Carnegie Mellon University. They married on June 19, 1954 and raised their family of 4 children in Pittsford, NY. They moved to Palm Coast, FL after retirement and enjoyed 26 years in the sunshine.
Ned was predeceased by his parents Edward R & Viola Clark. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; sister, Nancy Jaeger from England; children Gary (Ann Moseley) Clark of Ridgefield, CT; Gregory (Denise) Clark of Catasauqua, PA; Karen (Joe) Luciano of Sparta, NJ; Kimberly (Todd) Kelso of Queensbury, NY; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and his faithful puppy Lila. He was a wonderful and very beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ned was so very proud of all his children and spoke of them often to whomever would listen.
The family spent many years of vacation camping and boating in the 1000 Island region of the St. Lawrence River. He was an avid snow skier and volunteered as a Ski Patrol at Ski Valley for 15 years where his family enjoyed many days on the slopes. During his son’s younger years, Ned was actively involved with the Boy Scouts Organization, was troop leader for many years supporting one of his sons on to becoming an Eagle Scout.
His biggest passion was boating. He and Mary Lou spent many summers living on their boat the “Camelot” while island hopping, fishing and enjoying cocktails and sunsets. Having the entire family join them for vacations as often as possible made his heart happy.
