

Sparta, NJ- Hope Binder Cohen went home to the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, NJ. She was 46. Hope was born in Teaneck, NJ to Sig and Litsa Binder (Orphanou) and has resided since 2006 in Sparta. She previously lived in East Hanover. Hope was employed as a certified public accountant with Golden Goal. Hope was a committee member of Sparta Boy Scout Troop 82, Girl Scout Leader of Troop 4064 of Girl Scouts of Northern NJ, PTO Volunteer with various Sparta elementary schools. She was a volunteer accountant with the former Sussex Animal Shelter. She was instrumental in working with the scout organizations in beautification projects at Sparta Schools where trees, and garden projects were planted. Hope loved spending quality time with her family, hiking, camping, dirt biking together. Her home was always open to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as a meeting place and to have campfires in the woods behind their home. She loved gardening, horseback riding, and animal care. Surviving her is her loving husband, Albie Cohen of Sparta, her cherished son Alex, cherished daughter Katharina both at home, and loving daughter Amanda Cohen of Harrison, NJ. Her father and mother Sig and Litsa Binder, brother John Binder, and sister Barbara Binder, all of Sparta. Her nephews Charlie, Zachary, Luke, Jake Binder, and Jack Binder Poust. Friends and family are invited from 6 ~ 9pm Friday to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, 1 PM at Sparta United Methodist Church 71 Sparta Avenue Sparta, NJ.
