Janet "Nanny" Holder

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Janet was predeceased by her parents Theresa and John Wolf Sr., husband William of 49 years, sister Evelyn and brother John Jr.

She is survived by her brother Frank, her three children; Theresa, Catherine, and Barbara, daughter-in-law Tricia, and grand-daughter Karen.

Janet was born in Newark, NJ and worked as a secretary for Federal Pacific. In 1975 she and her family moved to Sparta, NJ planting roots that lasted for 45 years.

She enjoyed cooking, crafting, crocheting, reading, playing cards, and bingo. She was an animal lover and had many furry family members over the years.

She was a beautifully kind soul, full of humor and always wore a loving smile. This was balanced with a quick, witty personality and was often referred to as “spicy” or a “spitfire” by many who got a taste of her humor. When you met her, you would quickly understand just how special she was.

After becoming a grandmother, Janet became known simply as “Nanny Holder” to all who met her. She dedicated her life to taking care of everyone, even those not related by blood. Janet embodied love, faith, strength, and commitment to family and friends alike.

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, March 31, 2023, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ.
