Martin J. Bedell, Jr. of Branchville passed away on May 27, 2015 at the age of 79. Born on May 8, 1936 to Elizabeth (Miskovic) and Martin J. Bedell, Sr., he grew up in Sparta. Martin graduated in 1955 from Newton High School and attended Churchman Business School. He was a proud member of the United States Army National Guard and a New Jersey State Trooper. A long-time resident of Branchville, Martin and his wife, Shirlee, owned and operated Bedell’s Wine & Cheese Shop for nearly 40 years, surrounded by his daughter and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, making wine and spending time with his daughter, grandchildren, and companion, Jocelyn Young. Martin is predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirlee (ReSavage) Bedell. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Lisa Cassidy, and her two children, Dylan and Hailey, of Branchville, NJ. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Branchville, NJ at 11:00.
