Peter Kenneth Garland

.Lake Hopatcong- Peter Kenneth Garland died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, in Morristown, NJ. He was 79. Born in Jamaica, NY to Kenneth and Julia (Sauer) Garland, he was raised in Ridgewood, NJ and moved to Lake Hopatcong in 1963. Peter served his country proudly in the US Army. He was employed in the banking industry from 1959 until 1991 retiring as a senior executive from Chemical Bank in New York City. Peter was an avid dog lover, especially to his beloved dogs, CJ, and Little Girl. He enjoyed coin collecting, and was a Lionel train enthusiast. Peter will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Surviving him is his beloved wife of 52 years, Carmen Garland. His mother-in-law; Manuela Lopez. A sister; Judy K. Beebe, and her husband, Joseph of Sparta. A niece; Judith Zoeller of Sparta, and Nephews; Joseph Beebe of Whitehouse Station, NJ. John Paul and Jeffrey Beebe of Sparta, and James Beebe of Gastonia, NC. Family and friends are invited Friday 7~9 pm and Saturday from 9-10 am to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A Saturday, 10 am Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Lake RC Church in Sparta, followed by burial in Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ.
