

Dr. Robert Leslie Garth, 79, went home to be with the Lord on October 24, 2010. Dr. Garth was born in Clifton, NJ and was a resident of Sparta for 42 years. He was a graduate of Keystone Jr College and received his Bachelor of Science degree from William Paterson College. Dr. Garth was a graduate of the Chiropratic Institute of New York City and practiced Chiropratic for 42 years in Sparta. He was the owner and operator of Greendale Haven Egg and Sheep Farm in Colesville, NJ. He was past President of the Sparta Rotary Club, member of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association, member of the Aloha International Steel Guitar Association; he was a former Deacon at Sussex First Baptist Church and Newton First Baptist Church. Dr. Garth was named “Keystonian of the Year” in 1971-1972. Dr. Garth trained Border Collies and was a volunteer at Manna House in Newton, NJ. He was a member of the “Band in the Corner” band which played all over Sussex County. He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara (Nee Wolff) Garth; devoted children Kimberly Price, Gunner Frauenpreis and his wife Dawn Dr. Kurt Frauenpreis and David Garth. Grandfather of Lynn, Laura, Carl, Seth and Andrew; brother of Iris McNiff. Friends may call Friday, October 29th, 2010 from 2-4, 7-9pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday at the Lafayette Federated Church, 180 Rt 15, Lafayette, NJ.
