Robert J. Tierney

Wantage, NJ- Robert J. Tierney (67 years old) went home to the Lord on Wednesday July 5, 2017, at St. Clare’s Hospital Dover Campus with his wife and two children by his side. Robert was born in Paterson, NJ to John and Bessie (Kievet) Tierney. He has resided in Wantage for the past 37 years. Robert proudly served his country in the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam War era. He was employed for over 40 years as an electrical technician with ADT Corporation in Totowa, NJ, retiring in 2012. Robert loved being with his family and spending time at the beach. He is survived by his loving wife, Genoveva Tierney of Wantage, One son: Christian Tierney of Flanders, NJ, One daughter: Carla Hendricks (Michael) of Stoneham, MA, Two grandchildren: Genevieve and Colin Hendricks, Two brothers: Ronald and John Tierney, and nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited, Monday July 10, 2-4 and 7-9 pm for viewing at the Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A Tuesday Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 am at Our Lady of the Lake Church 294 Newton-Sparta Rd Sparta, followed by private cremation.
