

He was born in Orange, NJ and grew up in Pequannock, NJ. He moved to Dingmans Ferry, PA in 1990 with his wife Carol. Walter is a veteran having served as a Medical Spec. in the US Army 1972-1974. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and 2 Sharpshooter Badges. Walter graduated with a BA in History from Glassboro College. He worked as an Inventory Control Manager for several years but most recently retired from Willowglen Academy in Sparta, NJ where he supervised adults with behavioral disabilities in the Day Program.
He is remembered by his coworkers as “the man who knew everything about anything” and the one to go to with any questions or advice his co-workers were seeking. Walter loved his job and found it to be very rewarding. Growing up he loved to play baseball with his brothers in the league his father co-founded. He loved to go to Yankee games with family and friends throughout his lifetime.
He enjoyed working outside, having BBQs and spending time with family and friends. He loved family vacations especially at the Jersey shore. He loved history and traveling to visit national parks and Forts. He enjoyed watching old movies and reading. He was truly loved for his sense of humor, patience and kindness. He always had a friendly smile and made everyone feel welcome in his home. He never missed a game, dance, practice or recital for his daughter Cait. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Walter was predeceased by his father Walter E. Drury Sr and his mother Mary K. Harrington Drury. He is survived by his loving wife Carol Drury; daughter Caitlin Drury Tagliani and her husband Claudio of Milford, PA; his brother Kevin Drury and his wife Lauren, his brother Paul Drury, sister-in-law Susan Goldenbaum and her husband Edwin, brother-in-law Steven Wisneski; seven nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday April 28, 2022 at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Friday April 29, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 101 St. Vincent Dr., Milford, PA 18337.
