

Dottie was born on March 1, 1945, in Bremerton, WA, to Wayne and Helena Cartwright. She was raised in Great Falls, MT, by her father, Wayne, and her beloved stepmom, Dorla Cartwright.
She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1963 and, later in life, from a beauty school in Spokane, where she worked in various salons and eventually worked out of her home.
On July 24, 1982, Dottie married Jerry Andersen in a quiet ceremony in Great Falls, MT. They lived in Spokane, where they helped raise her three children from a previous marriage. They also raised their granddaughter, Chasity Hochhalter. They were active members in New Life Assembly of God Church, where Dottie was the wedding coordinator, and in other Christian fellowships in the Spokane Valley.
Deeply committed to jesus and to living a life of gratitude, Dottie was a person of prayer and peacemaking, with a gift for bringing everyone together. She often led Bible studies and book clubs and was also very talented at sewing, crocheting, and crafting, making many beautiful things for family and friends. She will be remembered for her phenomenal hostessing, her great generosity of spirit, and her deep love of life, laughter, and people.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Dorla Cartwright; her brother, Jerry Cartight; and her daughter, Tamara Hochhalter. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Andersen; her siblings, Judy (Jimmy) Hall, Bonnie Terry, and Ken (Barb), Dean, and Todd Cartwright; her children, Daniel (Priscilla) Hochhalter and Kymberly (Curtis) McPhie; three grandchildren, Chasity Hochhalter, Forrest (Katrina) Vessar, and Autumn McPhie; and seven great-grandchildren.
On Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., a Celebration of Life service will be held at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA. Memorials may be made to donors choice.
