Eva was born on October 21, 1930, in Strasburg, North Dakota, to Barbara (Schneider) and Rochus Holzer. As a young girl, she worked alongside her mother doing farm labor for local families and helped her father in the town dairy. She later worked in retail and spent time teaching school.
On June 6, 1950, Eva married the love of her life, Thomas R. Eberspecher. Together they shared 56 years of marriage, raising their family and building a life filled with love and partnership. They moved to Spokane, Washington, where they built a life together. Eventually settling in Spokane Valley in 1959, where they raised four children and operated several family businesses over the years.
Eva had a deep love for gardening and could often be found in her yard from morning until night during the spring, summer, and fall. She was also a talented embroiderer, creating beautiful hand-stitched pieces for her home and family. Over the years, she enjoyed collecting delicate blown glass figures, each one carefully displayed and cherished. She also enjoyed visiting the Coeur d'Alene Casino in Worley, ID, cheering for the Seattle Seahawks alongside her grandson, Nick, and keeping up with current events on Fox News. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: Thomas Eberspecher, Patricia (Kenneth) Sellers, and Gary (Sylvia) Eberspecher; her grandchildren: Thomas W. Eberspecher, Theodore “Zack” Eberspecher, Ryan Sellers, Kendra (William) Edmiston, and Nicholas Sellers; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas R. Eberspecher; her son, Wayne Eberspecher; her parents; and her many siblings.
Eva’s strength, warmth, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane, whose care and compassion supported Eva and her family in her final months.
