

Harold Hugh Rogers passed away peacefully at his home with his family present on August 22, 2011, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Anna Rogers, brother Stan Rogers, and grandson Jordan Lyall Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Helen E. Rogers, his children Terry Rogers (Judith) of Denver, Kristin Covarrubias (Arnie) of Bremerton, Robin Rogers of Spokane, Anders Rogers of Seattle and Jane Rogers of Post Falls. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kimberly Cook (Arri), Brent Rogers, Even Rogers, and Abbey Rogers, and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Jordan Cook.
Harold was born in St. Paul, MN on December 8th 1919 and graduated from Neenah High School in Neenah, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S Army Air Corps, stationed in Madras, OR where he met Helen. His orders took him to Ipswich, England where he was assigned to the 4th SAD, 8th Air Force remaining there until the fall of 1945. After graduating from Kinman Business University he spent his working life as an accountant, retiring as a senior auditor with the Arctic Slope Regional Corp. in Barrow, Alaska. While in Barrow, he was president of the local Lions Club, and was instrumental in locating the Wiley Post/ Will Rogers crash site memorial.
He was scoutmaster of Boy Scout troop 485, from1964-1968. He was a devoted fan of his beloved Seattle Mariners.
A viewing will be held at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 South Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99206 between 6-8 pm, on Friday August 26. Private internment will be at Union Cemetery, Orchard Prairie with a memorial service at Thornhill Valley Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday the 27th of August.
