

She then attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA graduating in 1953 with a B.A. degree. She taught kindergarten in Scarborough, NY for a year before marrying 2LT Richard P. Hoy in 1954 in Scarsdale, NY. As an Army wife she accompanied her husband to several Army posts in the United States and in Germany during his twenty year military career. Jane and Richard had their three children while in the service. During her years as an Army wife she was a Girl Scout leader, Red Cross volunteer, active in PTA and in the Protestant Women of the Chapel. Jane and Richard settled in Helena, MT after their lives in the Army. She learned to ski and fish in the rugged Montana outdoors and after her son taught her to fly fish she especially enjoyed those times together. She regularly attended her children’s school activities and gave them her full support. After living thirty years in Montana she and Richard moved to Spokane to be near their younger daughter. She enjoyed her senior citizen years by walking daily in warm weather, managing a flower garden and swimming in her back yard pool. She became an avid fan of Gonzaga basketball and the Seattle Mariners. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jane is survived by her daughters Cindy (Craig) Cathey of Pocatello, ID, Sharon (Rob) Stevenson of Spokane Valley, and son Steven (Peggy) of Twin Falls, ID, brothers W. Russell Todd and Richard T. Todd (Kathy). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
