

Our wonderful sister, Janet Rae Hannink, passed away 12/13/2023. She was born to Clifford and Thelma Iverson on 3/17/1936 in Huron, South Dakota. She was the oldest of the family which included 5 brothers, Jack, Marlan, Martin, Bradley, and Charles.
The family moved from South Dakota to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, where the family started up an action business known as Peoples Auction House.
Janet worked at the auction and various other jobs. she fell in love with a young man named Lloyd Hannink whom she married on December 17th in 1954. Her husband Lloyd made a career of the military. They traveled and were stationed in different places all over the world. After Lloyd retired from the military, they settled in the Spokane Valley, where Lloyd took a job with the U. S. Postal Service.
Jan held down many different jobs and even had a stamp and vending machine business. Jan loved life and people and became a great photographer. She entered her photos and won many rewards, she judged photo competitions and led many camera club field trips. To Jan everybody was a friend. Jan and Lloyd loved to garden and work in their yard. The home and yard was beautiful and all the neighbors received fresh garden vegetables.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years and 3 of her 5 brothers. Jan will be greatly missed and the remaining family thanks Garden Plaza and Life Care Center of Post Falls.
