

Jeanette Mildred (Henderson) Larrew, age 94, entered into rest October 10, 2014. She was born July 4, 1920 in Roswell, Minor County, South Dakota to Joseph Clarence and Hazel Vera (Hurst) Henderson. Jeanette was raised in Iowa, having moved there with her family at the age of eight. She graduated from Ogden (Iowa) High School (1938) and attended Central College and Academy in McPherson, Kansas. On January 6, 1941 she married Leo Larrew. Later Jeanette attended Centerville (Iowa) Jr. College (1952) and received her Teacher’s Certificate. She taught fifth grade in Palmer, Iowa, and taught in Bettendorf, Iowa as well as Norwalk (California) Christian School.
Jeanette taught Good News Club for several years. She was also an accomplished poet. In 2006, at the age of 86, she had a book of her poetry published entitled, “They Stand In Awe”. She also had individual poems published by National Library of Poetry, Noble House International, International Library of Poetry, Noble House Publishers, and Famous Poets.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, siblings; George Henderson, Donald Henderson, Bob Henderson, Doris Henderson, Lillian Johnson, Geneva Clark, Virginia Olsen; and three great grandchildren, Skyla Carpenter, Hunter Carpenter-Pylant and Ravin Carpenter-Byrd.
She is survived by her three children, LeNetta Elvidge, Craig (Jeni) Larrew, Leone Carpenter; nine grandchildren, Keith Goetz, Kevin Goetz, Dawn Hayek, James Elvidge, Andy Larrew, Krisha Larrew, Terry Carpenter, Kent Carpenter, and Rita Smith; as well as 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
