John was born on May 30, 1929 to Joseph B. and Wilma Rose Grissom in Memphis, TN. He passed away on April 21, 2011 in Spokane Valley, WA. John retired from the US Military after serving 20 years with the US Air Force. He was also a mechanic by trade. John loved fishing, farming, horses and woodworking. He will be remembered most as a wonderful father and grandpa. John is survived by his son, William Joseph Grissom; daughter, Nancy A. Grissom; foster daughter, Linda Burney; two sisters; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2PM at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd. Spokane Valley, WA. A graveside service will immediately follow at Pines Cemetery with military honors.
