Kathy Ann Griffith

Kathrine Ann Griffith (née Kirwin) of Newman Lake, Washington, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026 attended by her husband of 58 years, Michael Griffith. Born in San Mateo, California on February 11, 1948 to John and Natalie Kirwin.

She lived in constant loving service to others, including as a homemaker to her children, husband, and broader family, as well as those elders in her care and preschoolers in her oversight throughout her working life outside the home.

She was known for her grace, empathy, and kindness. Kathy embodied quiet strength and confidence while remaining gentle and caring in heart.

She found joy in gardening, travel, cooking precious family recipes, cinema, British television, and sharing quiet time with her husband and children. Kathy loved cheering for Gonzaga basketball and WSU Cougar football, she was rarely without a mystery novel in close reach and would save her hardest belly-laughs for her husband.

Kathy is survived by her husband Michael, children Todd Griffith (Paula Griffith) and Nicole Rogers (Dan Rogers), along with her brother Steven Kirwin. She was preceded in death by eldest brother John Kirwin, Jr., and her parents.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:15 a.m. at the Washington Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake.
