Mark was born in Missoula, MT to Leroy and Joan Boone where he was raised. He moved to Spokane some 33 years ago but lived in Yakima and Missoula for a few years each before returning back to Spokane. In his earlier years, he was a volunteer firefighter in Montana and also played the drums. He attended Hellgate High School in Missoula, studied Business Administration at Spokane Falls Community College, studied Professional Accounting at Eastern Washington University, and worked for the State of Washington for several years before retiring due to disability.
Mark loved camping, fishing and the outdoors - he was a country boy at heart. He went fishing with family and friends any chance he took and took several of his children and grandchildren fishing. He loved to go camping no matter the weather. He had been an outdoorsman since he was young. He loved animals, especially wolves.
Mark was like a big kid. He was goofy and fun. Alf and Scooby-Doo were two of his favorite shows. He loved cartoons and took many of his grandchildren to see them in the theaters over the years.
He loved classic rock music, especially live in concert and had attended many concerts. Mark was an avid and lifelong Seattle Seahawks fan. He watched every game faithfully from home. He recently went to a Seahawks game with his son Michael. He said it was one of the best days of his life. He loved barbequing and spending time with his family. He loved taking road trips to see friends and family.
Mark was a caregiver. He took care of anyone in need. He took care of his son Jason until he passed away. He took his wife and Steven to many doctor appointments and made sure they were following doctor's orders. He changed wound dressings, gave shots, administered medications, and genuinely loved the people he cared for. If he could help, he did, without hesitation.
There will forever be a place in our family missing him. He will remain in our hearts forever. We love you and miss you and will see you again! In keeping with the wishes of Mark, there will be no service. Instead, there will be a celebration of his life for friends and family on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
LOOK FOR ME IN THE RAINBOWS
Time for me to go now, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.
Time for me to leave you, I won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and love me, and I'll be close to you.
It won't be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again.
Time for us to part now, we won't say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment, and all your whole life through
Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.
Just wish me to be near you,
And I'll be there with you
