

Mildred Marie Clausen age 88, passed away October 23, 2016 from complications of cancer, at the Fairfield Care Center, in Fairfield, Washington. She enjoyed crocheting and teaching people how to crochet. Her beautiful afghans and doilies can be seen in most of her friends’ and families’ homes. She had a passion for horseback riding and shared that passion with her children. Of her hobbies, she enjoyed traveling with Wayne, her husband of 63 years, the most. They shared many great adventures driving dealer traded cars around the country for their friend, Gary Anderberg, Anderberg Chevrolet.
Born December 28, 1927 on the family farm near Fairfield, Washington she spent her entire life immersed in farming and in support of the lifestyle farming gave her. She loved life and was proud of the life she had made with her lifelong love, Wayne. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne, father Hans Madsen, and mother Sadie (Yokum) Madsen.
She is survived by: her son, Ken (Ida) Clausen, daughter, April Jordan, and daughter, Julie (Mike) Himmelberger, grandson, Jeremy (Leah) Clausen and his daughters (great-grandchildren) Olivia and Sophia Clausen, grandson, Jason Clausen, granddaughter, Becky (Tyler) Rounds and their children Austin, Carter and Taelyn, granddaughter Katie (James) Brown and their children Aurora and Jack, her sister, Helen (Art) Grewe, and brother Larry (Bev) Madsen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Our family wishes to thank the staff at the Fairfield Care Center for the excellent care they gave Mildred during this time.
Mildred was loved for being outgoing and ready to help in any way she could. She will be deeply grieved for by anyone whom she ever met.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Fairfield Community Center, Fairfield, Washington.
