July 31, 1932 – March 28, 2025
Morene Jobb, 92, of Spokane Valley, Washington, passed away peacefully on March 28,
2025. Born on July 31, 1932, in Violet Hill, Arkansas, she was the cherished daughter of
Truman and Edna Gaston.
Morene grew up in Cashmere, Washington, where she attended high school before
pursuing her passion for caring for others by attending Deaconess School of Nursing in
Spokane. She went on to dedicate decades of her life to the nursing profession, serving
patients and families with compassion, strength, and grace.
On July 11, 1953, she married the love of her life, Bill Jobb. Together they built a life
grounded in love, partnership, and devotion, sharing 60 wonderful years of marriage until
Bill’s passing on November 24, 2013.
She is survived by her four children: Greg (Karen), Tom (Mindi), Scott (Cindy), and Kellie
(Wayne); her grandchildren: Katy Owens (Chad), Kristin Drain (Tim), Roger Jobb (Christa),
Travis Jobb (Melanie), Ryan Jobb, Jamie Taylor (Zach) and Ethan Jobb; thirteen great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-granddaughter. Morene is also survived by her siblings
Eddie Gaston and Loleta Brower (Terry), and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in
death by her sister-in-law Marty Gaston.
Known affectionately as "Momo" by her grandchildren, Mo had a spirit as vibrant as the
garden she lovingly tended. She was a fixture in the Bloomsday race each year, proudly
lacing up her Brooks tennis shoes for the run. She also found joy walking with “The
Striders”, playing golf, taking shopping trips, spending time with loved ones, and keeping
traditions alive—especially her famous spaghetti on Christmas Eve, which became a family
favorite.
Morene was strong, loving, and yes—just the right amount of stubborn. She was the steady
heart of her family and valued nothing more than time spent together.
A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 15 at the Oxford Suites
Spokane Valley, where family and friends will gather to honor her life, share memories,
and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to a cause close to your heart
or one that honors Morene’s lifelong commitment to care and giving back.
