

Ralph went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2011. He was born in Colbert, WA and grew up in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. He was a veteran of WWII, and was in the 148th F.A. in the South Pacific until the war ended and was field commissioned to 2nd Lieutenant.
Ralph made his home in Deer Lake, WA for the past 5 years and had lived prior in Spokane for 55 years.
He was married to the love of his life, Anita, for 60 years. He and Anita ran a restaurant business in Sprague, WA for a short time. He moved to Spokane working for Archway Cookies and Kaiser Aluminum Trentwood Plant for 29 years. He started the Moretz Construction Company until his retirement in 1981. Ralph was an active member of the community, and a past member of the Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, and their 3 sons, Dale Cumpton (Moretz), Gary Moretz, and Ralph Moretz Jr., his parents Phil and Ella Moretz, and his sisters, Joann and Edna.
He is survived by his loving family: his daughters-in-law, Patricia Cumpton Fazekas and Jean Moretz Lilja; his grandchildren: Sean Moretz and Jenna Moretz (Jacobson), Jess, Kelly, Rhonda, Gary, Casey, and Anita Cumpton; as well as numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, 8304 E. Buckeye, Millwood, WA 99212.
