Richard C Schoen

Born in New York, NY on October 31, 1944 and died in Spokane, WA on July 18, 2016. He lost his fight with Pulmonary Fibrosis after 4 long years.

Richard is survived by his wife Patti Schoen, 4 sons Robert Schoen, Chris Busse, Randy Busse, Kelly Busse, daughter Angel Harris, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He spent many years of service with the town of Millwood, the city he loved and he served on the Mahakala Sister City Committee spending several years hosting foreign exchange students. Richard was a Central Valley graduate, class of ’62 and he attended Spokane Community College and Eastern where he earned a Master’s in Geology. He taught drafting and worked for RA Pearson Packaging Company. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Fire Department and served on the City Council right up to the present. He served on the Interfaith Council and was a member of Baha’i’ Faith. He loved the outdoors and spent time making his airplane.

There will be a Funeral Service at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, Friday, July 22, 2016 at 1:00 PM and a Celebration of his life will follow at 4:00 PM at Millwood Presbyterian Church 3223 N Marguerite Rd, Spokane, WA 99212 . All are welcome to come and share stories and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family.
