

In loving memory of my husband Richard (Dick) William Thomas, 73 years old of Spokane Valley, WA passed away May 3, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones. Dick was born in Chelan, WA February 26, 1950. Dick was married to Mickie Lou Cole on April 12, 1997 in Spokane, WA. Together, they enjoyed each other’s company for over 24 years.
Dick grew up in Spokane with his parents Ora and Louise Thomas and graduated from North Central High School in 1968. He worked for Valley Garbage and Waste Management until he retired.
Dick loved racing and owned his own cars that were driven by both his sons, Tracey Thomas and Aaron Schultz and a longtime family friend, Terry Armstrong Jr. (Mindy). Dick enjoyed traveling to the many races all over Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Dick loved his racing family and friends. Along with his wife Mickie, they also enjoyed traveling to both the Oregon and Washington coasts.
He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife Mickie; his daughters, Stacey Kaye (Russ) Matlock, Stacey Anne (Chris) Reel, Sammie Roberts (Amos); sons, Tracey (Becky) Thomas, and Aaron (Trishanna) Schultz. He is also survived by his sister Judy (Jack) Crane; grandsons, Andrew (Pandora) Schaal, Zack (Julia) Schaal; mother-in-law Doris Cole and Wendy Perry who was Dad’s bath aide from Sunshine Health. (He considered Wendy another daughter.)
Dick was preceded in death by his parents Ora and Louise Thomas. The family would like to thank Horizon Hospice for their compassion and kindness, especially his nurse Gerry Hanson.
