

Robert Bowerson, Sr. passed away on April 30, 2011, suddenly in his home. He was born on October 24, 1932 to Donald and Louise Bowerson in Harrisburg, Illinois. He graduated from Hazel Park High School in Ferndale, Mich. He attended Wayne State University for two years. He joined the Army and was stationed in Japan for the next three years. After retuning home to Algonac, Mich. he went to work at Chris-Craft Corporation where he met and married his beloved wife Donna (Beauvais). They were married on October 20, 1956. After they got married he went into the National Guard from 1960 to 1968. After the National Guard he went to work for Northwest Airlines in their ground service from 1968 until 1993 when he retired. On April 22, 2000 he joined the Catholic Church and was baptized with his granddaughter Jessica. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He sold Christmas cards, helped on the rummage sale for the Knights and served on the Parish Counsel board. He loved to fish and go camping with his children and grandchildren. His brother Jim preceded him in death in November 2010. He is survived by his wife Donna and his six children Danny (Maura), Ruth Ann, Terri (Dwayne), Susan, David (Sherry) and Robert Jr., he is also is survived by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. His funeral will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11am. There will be a luncheon after the service.
