Ronald Alvin Jones II passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 19, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in Portland, Oregon on March 5, 1960, Ron lived a life defined by loyalty, laughter, hard work, and an endless love for his family, friends, animals, and country.
Ron leaves behind the love of his life and devoted wife of 21 years, Christine Jones, along with a large and deeply loving family who will carry his memory forward every day. He is survived by his seven children: Jovonna (Jermaine) Dunbar, Genasee Weller, Heather (Corey) Cody, Kelsey Jones, Justin (Melissa) Manuel, Lydia Jones, and one additional beloved child whose life he cherished deeply. Ron was also the proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
Beyond being a dedicated husband and father, Ron was an incredible brother, uncle to dozens, cousin, and loyal friend. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Whether through a story, a joke, a helping hand, or simply his presence, Ron left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ron proudly served his country as a United States Marine, carrying the values of honor, strength, and patriotism throughout his life. After his military service, he built a respected career as a certified arborist, dedicating more than 35 years to his craft and the team of brothers he made along the way. He took pride in hard work and found peace and purpose in nature, especially among the trees and rugged beauty of the Oregon Coast — the place he always considered his true home, always "making memories".
A lifelong animal lover, Ron never hesitated to share whatever he had, even if it meant giving away his own lunch to a hungry stray or curious creature nearby. His compassion extended far beyond people; it was simply part of who he was. He lived generously, loved fiercely, and gave freely.
Ron’s absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his humor, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. He was deeply loved and will be tremendously missed.
Until we meet again.
