Born January 21, 1938 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Rae and Birdella Lybbert.
Died July 4, 2024 in Spokane Valley, WA, USA at the age of 86.
Dean was a selfless, kind, charitable, compassionate, witty, service-oriented man who also loved all good dad jokes. He graduated from Central Valley High School in the Spokane Valley in 1957. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to Denmark.
Dean was drafted by the Army and served in France for 2 years. He settled in Spokane with his family where he worked various jobs mostly in the road construction and concrete industry for the better part of 40 years until his retirement. In his retirement he continued to serve and help others in the community by doing a service mission at the Bishop’s Storehouse. He continued to keep busy into his 80’s being a friend, neighbor, and a grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Irene Lee, of 60 years and his five children, Mary Neff, Steve (Helen), Kevin (Teresa), Brian (Erika), and Melissa Sprenger (Mike), four brothers, Wayne, Bruce, Craig, and Curt, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Rae and Birdella Lybbert and 2 brothers Sherrill Kent and Delmon Rae.
Dean will be missed by many whom he lovingly served or associated with. We are grateful to him for giving us a legacy of quick wit, sage advice, and infinite examples of a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
