Our beloved Mother and wife, Barbara Elise Rodgers nee Eickhorst, was born November 20, 1945, in Berwyn, Illinois.
She was the granddaughter of Fred and Lillian (Downer) Eickhorst and Lud and Josephine (Sedlacek) Ehrenberger.
Daughter of Ralph and Elsie (Ehrenberger) Eickhorst. Raised in the Lombard area.
She married James Johnson in June 1964 in Lombard, Illinois, where 3 children were born, Jason, Douglas, and Laurie Johnson.
The family moved to Big Fork, Montana, in 1966, where they later established Johnson Lumber and a cabinet company, along with raising limousine cattle. They were later divorced.
She married Richard Rodgers in 1981 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and moved the family to the Spokane area, where she purchased a ranch in Davenport, WA, and continued ranching, selling and installing cabinets.
Barbara passed on September 9th due to complications of a serious heart attack on September 3rd.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Douglas. She is survived by her husband Richard, two brothers, Randy Eickhorst (Debbie) of Montana, Kurt Eickhorst (Chris) of Oregon, sister, Kris Hoover (Dave) of Oregon, sons, Jason Johnson (Tricia) of Spokane, Douglas Johnson (Pauline) of Post Falls, and daughter Laurie Johnson of Davenport, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
There will be no service pursuant to her wishes. Donations can be made to St Jude’s or Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in the name of her surviving daughter, Laurie, who beat childhood Leukemia.
