

Del was born May 14, 1933, in Spokane WA and passed away May 16, 2016 after many years of illness. He attended Gonzaga Preparatory High School and entered the seminary for a time. Del was enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1952-56 and worked for many years as manager of Anderson Dental Laboratory in Spokane. Del was proceeded in death by his mother Beatrice Elizabeth Ricard, father Delbert J. Murray, wife MaryAnn (Kofmehl) Murray, and sister Helen A. Boehme. He is survived by his son Mark Murray of Big Lake, AK, daughters Jeanne (Steve) Moore of Anchorage, AK, and Angela (Luke) Desiletes of Powell River, B.C., and stepchildren Sherri (Jim) Melton, Steve (Genevieve) Demaray, and Sue Mayo, brothers Patrick Murray, of Anchor Point, AK, Robert (Linda) Murray of Elk, WA, and Michael Murray of Newport, WA , 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. MaryAnn and Del loved their church family at St. Josephs Catholic church in Colbert. Del was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 8872. Del was a kind and patient soul who loved to tease his nieces and nephews, calling the girls little boys and the boys little girls. An always helpful person, Del made popcorn for patients at the Vets Hospital, served coffee at the freeway rest-stop at Sprague and served donuts after Mass on Sundays. He certainly cared for other people and was a loving father, son, big brother and uncle.
In lieu of flowers Del’s family suggest a memorial gift to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorial services will be at St Joseph Catholic Church, 3720 E. Colbert Rd., Colbert, WA. on Wednesday June 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
