

Passed into the presence of the Lord on February 1, 2014. Born March 15, 1918 in Seattle, WA, she is survived by two sons, Garrett Allman of Jacksonville, IL, and Mark Allman of Spokane. She married her beloved husband Arthur in 1942, who preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. She attended the University of Washington and was a graduate of the Tacoma General Hospital School of Nursing. During World War II and for several years afterward, she worked in the nursing field in Seattle and Los Angeles. A dedicated resident of Spokane for the last 53 years, she was employed as a medical transcriptionist at Deaconess Hospital for the 20 years prior to her retirement. She loved classical music, and she and husband Art were longtime subscribers to the Spokane Symphony Orchestra. Following retirement she hiked with the Corbin Center Hikers for 19 years. She had a deep Christian faith and attended Fourth Memorial Church for many years. A Memorial Service will be held at the Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 2pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Fourth Memorial Church, Union Gospel Mission, or Spokane Humane Society.
