

With heavy hearts, we announce the final journey of Dorothy Alice (Wynne) Christian, 89, of Spokane, Washington, who passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and friend.
Dorothy was born on January 23, 1936, to John Wynne, and Agnes (Phillips) Wynne who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband Donald Lane Christian, and her siblings George Wynne, Gertrude (Flett) Wynne, and Warren Flett.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Ken Griffin (Spokane, Washington); son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Charlotte Armenta, (Coweta, Oklahoma), and their daughters, Sara (Cox) Shaefer, husband Dan and their children, Jaxon, Jaeger, and Stevie Schaefer (Lubbock, Texas), Brenna Armenta (Plano, Texas), and Allison Armenta (Seattle, Washington); along with nieces and nephew, Beverly (Wynne) Fernandez, Charmaine (Wynne) Fenton, Jana Wynne, and Bob Wynne as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Dorothy attended Whitworth College for a year in 1953 and graduated from a secretarial school before working at the Spokesman Review. She then relocated to Riverside, California where Dorothy worked at Riverside Hospital as floor secretary. She lived in California with her second husband and children and worked as an Administrative Assistant to the vice-president at Parsons Engineering until returning to Spokane in 1974. Dorothy was employed by Bovay Engineers as the administrative assistant until the 1990s, when she went to Attwood-Hinzman Engineering, Inc. until she retired in 1996.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by family and friends. The officiant for all services will be Sulustu (Barry) Moses. Arrangements are as follows.
• Visitation service will occur Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 West Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. the memorial will continue at Spokane Tribal Casino Resort’s Chief Lot meeting room.
• Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Spokane Tribe Powwow Pavillion on BIA Hwy 183, Wellpinit, WA 99040. From 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. the memorial will continue at Spokane Tribal Casino Resort’s Chief Lot meeting room.
• Internment at Chief Lot Cemetery (Presbyterian Cemetery) following services at the Powwow Pavilion, 6145 Ford-Wellpinit Rd, Wellpinit, WA 99040.
