Frances Irene Newell

Spokane - Frances went to be with her Lord & Savior on December 3, 2011 at the age of 89.

She was born in Oklahoma on April 10, 1922 to Ross and Esther Johnson Elrod. The family moved to Chino, California in 1926. She attended schools in Chino and graduated from Chino High School in June 1941. Frances moved to Spokane in 1953 where she met and married Gale Howard Newell on March 18, 1954. Their only child, Ronald Gale was born June 21, 1957.

Frances worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant for Emery Carper and also worked for the County Health Department and DHSH.

She has been an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Spokane since 1953.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Esther Elrod; husband Gale Newell, son Ronald Newell and brother Rowen (Rod) Elrod.

She is survived by her brother Don and his wife Joyce of Bella Vista, Arkansas, numerous nieces and nephews in Washington, California, Minnesota and Oklahoma and her Church family and friends in Spokane.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 10th, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd. Spokane. There will viewing at 10:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church.
