A Friend
The world is an emptier place,
Our friend has gone on, far too soon.
Now walking with angels,
Singing a joyous tune.
He has gone on before us,
Leaving behind friends and family.
He was ready, we were not,
Going home, much too early.
Always the one to make you feel of value,
The nicest guy you would ever want to meet.
With his contagious laugh, beaming smile,
Always there with his hug to greet.
His nieces and nephews were well aware,
His greeting to them they all did know.
With his smile intact, arms open wide,
“It’s so nice to see you, how you doin Kiddo?”
A friend to everyone, never finding any fault,
The eternal optimist, a virtue he did carry.
Always available to lend a hand,
No was not a term in his vocabulary.
Joining the army, serving our country,
He did love it so dear.
Spending time in the outdoors,
Fishing was his passion, no matter the time of year.
A special guy, loved by all who knew him,
He loved our Lord, he loved his family.
Brother, father, uncle, nephew, friend,
You are deeply missed, always will be.
