Helen May Giles

(Age 96) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Helen Giles. Her spirit went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2024, at her home in Spokane Valley, Washington. Helen was born July 16, 1927, to Albert and Vivian Webb and grew up in the Ione/Newport area. She married Lloyd Giles on September 28, 1944. They lived in Whitman County, where Lloyd worked in the farming industry while Helen worked in the home taking care of their children until moving to Medical Lake in 1965. Helen began working as a Food Aid and later an Attendant Counselor at Lakeland Village until retiring in 1982. Her and Lloyd enjoyed snow birding which she continued to do for several years after his passing. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, daughter Jacklyn Giles, and grandsons James Perry and Luke Fairchild. She is survived by sons James (Crystal), Ricky (Linda), daughters Dorothy (Paul), Terri (David) and numerous grand, great grand and great, great grandchildren. She was most happy when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Full of love, laughter and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She was one of the strongest women we have known. To commemorate her incredible journey and celebrate the love she spread, a service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Medical Lake, WA on July 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A private graveside service will be held prior. We invite all who knew her to join us in celebrating a truly remarkable woman.
