Janette Lee Wachter

Janette was born on September 4th, 1951 in Norfolk, England. She grew up in a military family

moving frequently, living in Germany for a time before returning to the United States and

eventually settling in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from Shadle High School in 1969.

Janette worked in Human Resources for most of her career before her retirement in 2002. It was

then that she and her husband Chuck moved to Ione, Washington where they ran a small store

and taught basket weaving. During the summer months, the family would often join Janette and

Chuck to enjoy the beautiful forest setting around their home and the outdoors.

Janette enjoyed gardening, picking huckleberries, and crafts of all kinds. She rarely sat still and

was always working on multiple projects. Travel was her true passion, she was always an

adventurer at heart.

Janette met and married her 2nd husband Chuck Wachter in Spokane in 1992. The couple

enjoyed traveling together, taking trips to South Africa, England and Scotland. They also lived

and worked in Alaska for a few years and shared many adventures exploring the great state.

Janette is survived by her husband Chuck, sister Sue, daughters Natalie and April and

grandson Vance. She will be missed by us all.
