John B. Atkinson

Passed away September 10, 2015, in Spokane, WA. John was born January 18, 1934 in Cheney, WA, the seventh of twelve children to Agnes and Edward Atkinson. John graduated from North Central High School in 1952 and would continue to be a life-long Spokane resident except for two years serving in the US Army. John worked for Armour for 30 years.

John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ed, Donald, Jerry, Eugene and Robert; and sisters Virginia, Adell, Rose, Marita and Joan. He is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Shirley Blair; sister Marie Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John and Shirley enjoyed cruise vacations and wintered in Mazatlán a number of years. He was a skilled handyman and enjoyed creating many unique items for friends, nieces and nephews. No services are scheduled. John’s family extends special thanks to the oncology staff at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
