Joyce Kathryn Calvert

Joyce Kathryn Calvert went to be home with the Lord Jesus on November 29th, 2024, at the age of seventy-seven, after a recently diagnosed illness. She was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on January 21, 1947 to Patricia J. and John D. Hauptmann. The family moved to the Wheaton, Illinois area, where she spent her formative years.

In her early twenties she moved to the West Coast and worked as an executive secretary for a number of years. Joyce met and married Richard D. Calvert and moved to several locations in California and Oregon, due to his vocation, before settling in Spokane over twenty-five years ago. Her last position before retiring was as a medical transcriptionist, working for several companies as well as for their own home business. Joyce was interested in many local and national political issues and was a rich resource to her loved ones on such matters.

A committed Christian with a Biblical worldview, she passed peacefully, with her husband and sister-in-law at her side. Joyce is survived by her husband, her sister Jeanne, and two brothers - Bruce and Ted, plus a number of other extended and close-knit family members and friends across the country. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, as well as her brother Paul. Her presence is greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her memorial service will be held on January 21st at noon, at "The Heights" church, 12703 W. 14th Ave, Airway Heights, WA.
