Jan. 6, 1939 – Aug. 27, 2011
Heaven’s choir has a new angel. Our beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend, Judith Anne Miller Stewart, went home to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of August 27, 2011, surrounded by her family.
Judy was born to Gerald Elwood Miller and Virginia Coffey Miller on January 6, 1939 in Chewelah, Washington. Judy was a proud member of the Eagle marching band from West Valley High School. Judy was also a queen with Job’s Daughters in Millwood, Washington.
Judy worked as a bookkeeper for Seattle First National Bank in Millwood. She then worked as a meat wrapper in her father’s grocery store alongside her husband, Don. She was fortunate to retire early and enjoyed her years as a homemaker.
Judy was a very dedicated mom and grandma and spent many hours as a “hockey mom” and “band booster.” She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Judy enjoyed many years of membership at Valley Fourth Memorial Church, where she shared her sweet voice in the choir and ensemble. She made many life-long friends and truly enjoyed her times spent in Bible study fellowship, especially decorating for coffee service.
Judy was an avid gardener, reader, coupon-clipper and scrap-booker—traits she lovingly passed on to her children and grandchildren. She also loved to travel; she and Don enjoyed many trips across our beautiful country. We are blessed to relive her trips through the many photos she took.
Judy is survived by her “kindly redheaded” husband Don, sons Dave (Tonia), Rob (Kim), and Ryan (Jennifer), and daughter Kris (Bill) Clifford, 8 grandchildren (9th on the way), brothers Bob and John (Cynthia), sister-in-law Janet, her beloved cat Edgar, and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Jerry, her mother, Virginia, and her brother, Dennis.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at Valley Fourth Memorial Church at 24th and Bowdish on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 2 p.m.
The family would like to thank the compassionate and caring staff at Hospice of Spokane. In Judy’s memory, donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210, or Alzheimer’s Association – Inland NW Chapter, 910 W. 5th #256, Spokane, WA 99204.
