On June 22, 2018, the Julius Weiler family lost its patriarch. Julius, also known as “Red”, while no longer with us in body, will live forever in our very being. He was not only the epitome of what a husband and father should be, but he was a man of character. Always ready with a joke or trick, his humor was present at all times. Julius had many qualities that made him a man among men. He was generous, understanding, passionate, loving, humble, and a mentor and leader of his family, which was his number one priority.
Julius’s generosity and selfless nature affected many people. He was a long time member of West Valley Kiwanis. His love of music prompted him, with the sponsorship of the West Valley Kiwanis, to help establish a foundation to support students of music, performing arts, and fine arts. Also with the sponsorship of W. V. Kiwanis, he began an 18 year, weekly music workshop allowing young and old, together, to learn to play musical instruments. He began and oversaw the W. V. Kiwanis instrument lending and donation program.
Julius and fellow Kiwanians volunteered yearly to collect donations for the Spokane Guild School Penny Drive and collected millions of pull-tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.
Julius enjoyed the outdoors and the wonder and awe of nature whether in his own backyard or on a scenic drive. His creativity could be seen in his woodworking and crafting. He was a realtor in the Spokane area for many years.
Julius is survived by Debbie; his wife of 41 years, 6 children and 21 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
