Karen I. Thompson passed away January 19, 2019. She was born in Ontario Oregon on August 14, 1934. She traveled around the country, both with her parents and as a military wife. She moved and settled in Spokane, WA in the early 1970’s where she raised 5 children on her own. Karen retired from the Spokane Regional Health District. She spent one season singing with the Choir of the Spokane Symphony. She also volunteered for Hospice of Spokane until her health interfered with these favored endeavors. She was a devoted member of the Sunrise Church of Christ. Karen was preceded in death by her parents O. Harrison Brooks, Marjorie I. Brooks her eldest son Ronald D., and her husband Riley D. Karen is survived by her four remaining children Michael (Bonnie), Alexis, John (Brenda) and Leslie. Her grandchildren Joshua (Mariah), Aaron, Shiloh (Kevin), Shannah, Savannah, Jeremy, John Jr., and Stephanie. Her great grandchildren Jonnie Rose, Elaine, Tacy, Alex and Parker as well as her brothers and sister in Christ at Sunrise Church of Christ. A memorial service will be held at Sunrise Church of Christ, 4718 E Ash St., Spokane, WA 99205 on January 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
