

Loyd Brunton passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Sept. 27th, 2012 at the age of 98. He was born on March 11, 1914 in Alberta, Canada to his homesteading parents Lily and Bert. The family moved to Montana and eventually Spokane in 1929. Loyd was married to the love of his life Maxine for 52 years. He retired from the Washington Air National Guard in 1970 and served on active duty for over five years during WWII and for eighteen months during the Korean conflict. In his younger years Loyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, and puttering outside their home in Milan, WA. From there, he and Maxine moved to Fairwood Retirement Center where he lived until the past year. Everyone there knew Loyd with his friendly ways and smiling face. For the last year he made his home with his son and daughter-in-law Paul and Sheila Brunton. Loyd was always a gentleman and his faith and integrity guided him throughout his life. He is survived by his son Paul, daughter Miriam, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 this Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe.
