Marjorie Louise Sims, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Moran Vista Retirement Community. She was born January 19, 1924, in Michigan, North Dakota to Kohn and Lillie Orvik and moved to Spokane in 1941. She met Roy, the love of her life, in 1942 and they were married February 12, 1943. Marge graduated from Kinman Business College and worked at True's Oil Company until they started a family. After their children were in school, Marge returned to work and retired as Kitchen Supervisor with Spokane School District 81. Marge's joy in life was her husband, her three children and their spouses, her six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Marge held a place in her heart for every grandchild and great grandchild. She touched each of their lives in a special way. Marge was the longest living member of Fowler Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women's Society as well as serving on other committees. Marge enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She was a tremendous cook, enjoyed bowling on several leagues, loved to fish, knit and enjoyed playing pinnacle with family and friends. Preceding her death were her parents, her beloved husband Roy (2001), brother, Wayne. She is survived by three children: Kathleen Schott (Robert), Karolyn Holland (Doug), Chuck Sims (Jan), her six grandchildren, Kohn Cottrell (Corina), Mary Cowie, Annie Schott, Ryan Sims (Natalie), Kyle Sims, Janelle Sims (Troy); her great grandchildren McKabe, Keegan, McKenna & Kohlter Cottrell and Allison Cowie as well as other relatives. Donations may be made to Fowler Methodist Church, Kindred Hospice or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be Friday January 18th 1pm - 5pm at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Marge's service will be at Fowler Methodist Church, 3928 N. Howard Spokane, WA on Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 pm. This would have been Marge's 95th Birthday. Private burial will precede the services at Spokane-Cheney Memorial Gardens.
